  6. What if my child is not a strong reader or doesn’t like to read?

    ?

Many students don’t like to read or are not strong readers when they start the program, but they grow in ability and enjoyment the longer they stay in the program. As we know, the more a child reads, the more fluent he or she becomes.
  7. What if my child is shy and hesitant to speak in front of a group?

    ?

Our teachers do an excellent job not only of making sure that each student finds his or her voice but that each student is respected and heard. When a teacher calls on a student to speak, all the other students are muted. Even if the speaker’s voice is quiet or hesitant, the audio comes through clearly to the entire class, while at the same time the speaker’s image takes up the central part of the screen. The experience for the student is more like talking one on one than talking to a group. By taking turns speaking in this way, students not only develop confidence in their own voices but experience the pleasure of working together to tease out the meaning of a book.
  8. What kind of internet access do I need to use this program?

    ?

A broadband internet connection with a common provider will work fine.
